DIY leaf crown

Are you that kid that was always cast as a tree in the school plays? Well I've never experienced it, so I thought, woodlands themed party.  Perfect time to be a tree.  Now I know this is not an excitement for most, but when it comes with a promise of DIY'ing, I'm in.

So I set about making my leaf crown, and it turns out it was actually pretty simple.  Here is a simple breakdown on how I made it.

You will need:

  • 2 pieces of Floral wire (found at any flower shop/market)
  • Floral tape (preferably green)
  • Green leaves (flower markets/your garden)
  • Scissors
The how to will follow in a tutorial video, coming tomorrow.
The end product looks something like this (excuse the iPhone picture).

And an awkward selfie in the car.

It's simple and fun.

Mr Price you must be doing soemthing right

Lately i have been nothing but surprised at the constant flow of great items at Mr Price. Over the years I've seen their trend forecast as a bit erratic.  Don't get me wrong they are reliable for affordable basics but other than that i always described their clothing as just missing the mark.

They have started the year off well with the steadying ability to keep me coming back.  But the focus of this post is more on the guys side. Their men's casual clothing has really taken that step forward, if not only for the fact that they don't plaster 'RED' over the chest of every t-shirt.

Take a look at the stuff above and on their site, i would pick at least 5 items for Sean to wear.  Though I'm not saying  that he would do it, its just what I would choose for him.  Great straight leg chino's and other on trend basics.

What I'm getting at is that I'm happy with their progress - my wallet is thanking me and so is my wardrobe.

Jenny Mortsell - cool things that normal people can't do

In absolute awe of Jenny Mortsell and the beautiful things that happen when she puts pen or rather pencil to paper. A win for fashion illustrations I'd say.

Winter style love

As for my lack of appearance here, well lets just chalk it down to life getting the better of me.  Stressed with finding a car, along with finding a new flat and very day responsibilities. Its a lot.  But lets not dampen your day!

Something fun, Yesterday in Cape Town we had a beautiful day of rain and it got me thinking bout winter. I cannot wait.  Seriously I'm like a kid on Christmas morning.

How lovely?  This will be my number one winter ensamble.

Thoughts?

Simple is best

Though i am loving colour blocking and sequins at the moment i could never leave my first love of simple, sophistication.  I'm still in love with simple, natural make up, small tattoo's - 'wild & free' , the versatile black pencil trousers & white sheer shirt and the sand & white combination.

Is this just me?  What are your favourite trends at the moment?
